This piece looks sweet at first glance but carries a strange stillness. I used self-help mantras to build a kind of emotional collage. The image is soft, distant, almost unreal, like a memory that has been sitting too long in your head. The lambs are symbolic of a lover couple that never came to be and that ambiguity is what I was after. Everything is polished and composed but slightly off. It is meant to sit somewhere between celebration and unease, asking what it means to be alive in a world that keeps selling us versions of ourselves.
